week 1
Mapping It Out
In our first class, we explore the geographical layout of Los Angeles by showing the locations of the major studios & casting companies. Also, we break down the freeway system, as well as the alternate street routes by which to access them. During Class 1 we also discuss the basic steps of the audition process. At no additional cost, we provide a driving tour of LA, featuring all the important landmarks that a new actor should know.
week 2
An Actor's Toolbox
We discuss the tools that every actor must have to start and maintain a career. We also examine the many resources available to actors and how to use them to the fullest.
week 3
Business Of The Business
We tackle the technical side of the business that every performer must grasp to compete... from contracts to bookkeeping.
week 4
How To Handle An Audition
As a famous actor once said, "All auditions are exactly the same and no two are alike." In this class, we breakdown the “do's” and “don'ts” of professional auditions and teach actors how to navigate and read the audition room.
week 5
Representation
Perhaps the most important part of a succesful acting career (and ironically, the most difficult), in this class we discuss professional representation, how to look for it and how to handle yourself when you finally get it.
This class ends with practice auditions, using materials sent to the actors 24 hours prior.week 6
You Don't Just Show Up And Work!
Okay, you made it through the audition and call-backs. You survived the negotiations and you're on the set. Now what? In this final class, we walk the actors through the complex world of a working set.
